Carelinks Bible Reading Plan
The believer isn’t to live by bread alone, but by the word of God. As we grow in Christ, daily contact with the Father’s word becomes quite natural- for the word is to be made flesh in us as it was in the Lord Jesus. But many of us need some practical discipline to get our eyes in contact with the Bible each day. This reading plan enables us to read the majority of the Bible in one year, reading an average of about 80 verses / day. In order to achieve this, some chapters have been omitted- not because they’re not Divinely inspired, but because they are of specialized interest (e.g. lists of names).
As individuals and as a community, we should be Christ-centred; not merely Bible readers. I find it necessary each day to read at least something from the Gospels, to keep in direct contact with the words and story of Him who is to be found “in all the Scriptures”. I commend a constant reading of the Gospels in addition to following this plan. And in this spirit we conclude the year with repeated reading of the records of the Lord’s death and resurrection, which events are utterly central to our faith and being, both now and eternally.

Note: Another, more extensive Bible reading planner called The Bible Companion is also highly recommended- this enables the Old Testament to be read once and the New Testament twice during a year. Copies are available from the publishers
