7.00 p.m. WINNING THE WEST-Brother Charlie Klennert

It seems impossible to make converts in the West! But the Tacoma, USA ecclesia have baptized many people recently and they have thousands of contacts throughout North America. Brother Charlie is a leading light in that ecclesia and he'll be explaining what's happened and how- and we're sure we'll all be carefully listening, eager to learn how we might replicate their success.

8:30 p.m. Supper

Saturday 17 January

08:30  Tea & Coffee

09:00 SYMPOSIUM: GOOD WORKS IN THE COMMUNITY- Brother  John Locke

A talk and structured discussion. Good works in the community- how can this shine the light of the real Christ to people? Are we supposed to do good works so that we might be seen? Should we consciously associate our charity with the message we have for people? Or should we just focus on bringing people to Christ?

10:30 SYMPOSIUM: DOCTRINE FOR TODAY- Brothers Peter Cresswell & John Eastbury

Two talks and structured discussion. How important and valuable is doctrine today? If it doesn't matter at all, why remain Christadelphians? If it does matter, why does it matter? And how much does it matter? If a person agrees on everything apart from demons, are they lost? On everything apart from... ?

What should our attitude be to other Christians? That they are part of the beast, harlot daughters, and the enemies of God? That they need re-education, re-baptism? That we can partner with them in reaching a post-Christian world? How best can we engage Christian folk today over issues like the trinity, devil etc?

11:45 - 12:00 Coffee

12:00 JOB- Brother Geoff Maycock

Job - seen not as discussing the meaning of unnecessary suffering, but as a debate about the principles invovled in how men and women can be made right with God - faith not works.

1:30 p.m. Lunch
Afternoon free until 4:30pm

4:30 ENCOUNTERS WITH JESUS (2)- Brother Steve Gretton

5:00 PREACHING TECHNIQUE- Brother Duncan Heaster

We all want to preach. But how concretrely? This will be a practical discussion of how to engage with people and lead them to Christ; from body language to dialogue building to Biblical persuasion. And how to go beyond mere technique in winning men and women for the Lord.

6:30 Supper

8:00 HORSES FOR COURSES- DIFFERENT APPROACHES TO PEOPLE- Brothers Norman Durk & Mark Leadbetter

Comparing and contrasting approaches to people- Africa, Georgia, Latvia. How to express the same Gospel to different people and cultures, making it relevant to them without compromising the message

Sunday 18 January

09:00 Tea & coffee

09:30 EVOLUTION AND CREATION- Brother Robin and Sister Jean Field

Is this "The ultimate barrier" to faith for Western people? Secular man believes that "Religion is just speculation; evolution is proved". We'll considerthe very real problems with Darwinian evolution and the gross misinformation which is disseminated to the unsuspecting public. Evolution is far from proved and its more zealous priesthood is getting more and more jittery.

11:00 Memorial meeting- exhortation- ??

ACCOMMODATION

For accommodation we have found a local hotel, The White Hart at Ford, near Chippenham.which has 11 double rooms, so if people share they can accommodate 22 (or 23 if 3 share the family room).  The cost is £55 per room per night, ensuite rooms inc full English Breakfast.    It is a beautiful, quiet place and as good value as we can expect round here.  Also only 2 miles from Colerne. this is our first recommendation. [Also has a very good restaurant if anyone needed it.]  http://www.marstonsinns.co.uk/Home/hotels/hotel-chippenham/white-hart

Our second choice is The Crown at Giddea Hall, about a further mile down the road.  They could accommodate 16 in double or twin rooms - all ensuite.  A bit more expensive at £60 with Continental Breakfast and £5.50 extra for Full English. Has a good restaurant if needed.

People are welcome to do their own thing, it's simply that Br Steve Gretton has negotiated these rates for our group.  However, it's not dependent on numbers.  If people go direct to the White Hart or the Crown, they'll probably get the same rate, but we thought it would be nice to get a group together, if they'd like, for extended fellowship.

You can contact br Steve at steve.gretton@googlemail.com
