The late, great Bro. Faris (Kandahar, Afghanistan)

A Christadelphian Martyr

We have now obtained a photo of our murdered Brother Faris (left) of Kandahar, Afghanistan. Kandahar is one of the most fundamentalist Islamic cities on earth. According to the Koran, a convert to Christianity must be murdered within three days of his conversion. Brother Faris had his head chopped off by his father-in-law, using a garden spade. Our Brother is pictured here just after his baptism, writing a letter of greeting to his new Brethren and Sisters, in which he explains his determination to preach the gospel at all costs. We pay tribute to our brave Brother and long for the day of resurrection.

The Road Ahead

If, in the will of God, the Lord Jesus stays away any longer, Consider the following simple fact:

Non-Western membership of the Christadelphians doubles every 15 years

In order to get a more accurate picture, we need to consider the membership of the Christadelphians in the traditional heartlands of the UK, Australasia and North America. The figures we are dealing with are statistically valid; my figures may not be exactly right, but I am certain that the general trend and conclusion is correct. I have been involved in Christadelphian preaching work since my baptism in 1951 and can now look back over 50 years and marvel at what God has done. I dislike applying such statistical analysis to God's Truth, but we must look at the trends and be realistic about the possible road ahead.
